Aide and instruction on how to conduct research in the arts disciplines whether for a class assignment, article, or personal inquiry.
Aide and instruction on how to find images for projects or publication as well as licensing and fair use.
Personal image collections
Guidance on best practices for personal image collections including preservation, naming conventions, embedded metadata, and cataloging.
Fair use and intellectual property
Guidance on best practices as provided by organizations like the Visual Resources Association, the Association of College and Research Libraries, and the American Library Association.
Instruction and Training
The visual resources specialist is available to give a variety of workshops as in-class lectures, as tutorials in the lab, and as extracurricular seminars. If a tailored workshop is requested, please give the VRC at least 2 weeks lead time to prepare. Readymade instruction is available with at least 2 days notice in the following areas:

Both students and faculty may request items to be purchased for the Visual Resource Center. Each request will be evaluated with the collection development policy and the current budget.
